"Film program speaks up on new travel policies"
This article is my favorite piece that I've written throughout high school because it highlights the passion and hard work of the students and their adviser. This story captures the genuine and raw emotions against the new travel policies as well as the students continuing to overcome challenges in order to have a successful year. This story was trending at #9 with over 160 views on our site.

Sports
Throughout my time in the newspaper, covering sports has been one of my favorites to do. Not only is it because of the action and culture at sporting events, but recognizing athletes' hard work and talents. I've covered a majority of sports at PHS from football, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, swim & dive, and tennis. I've tried to cover all the sports at the school because I believe that they should be equally covered. Not only is it important to balance coverage between all the sports, but sharing athletes' passion and story behind each photo.

Mixed-doubles team places at state, 1st time in 7 years
Covering tennis is one of my favorite sporting events to cover – the first time I covered it was my freshman year, and it was also the first time I picked up a camera. Since then, I made a goal to cover tennis every year, and I accomplished that. This feature is one of my favorites because these two athletes are not only great on the court, but their passion for the sport inspires me to keep going with my own goals, and hard work pays off. I enjoyed every second of the interview with the two players – Nicole Steel and Matteo Mejia; their kindness and playful attitude during the interview and getting shots of them on the court made this such a great piece.
Analysis: Eagles continue training through bye–week, look forward to homecoming game
Covering football is another one of my favorite sports to cover, but because I'm on the drill team – I'm not able to go down on the field and cover. So, through this analysis, I got to look into the statistics of the season so far and interview a few of the players on how the season was going. I enjoyed writing this analysis and it allowed me to cover a little glimpse of football season.

Coach plans to lead athletes to ‘home run’ season
For this sports feature, I worked alongside my teammate – Caitlyn Ketzle. She assisted with the interview and went out to the baseball field to get a featured image. I wrote the feature, and Caitlyn helped me edit and add the final details in the article. I enjoyed learning more about the baseball program, and getting out of my comfort zone to find the story behind the team.

Preview: Soccer ‘kicks’ off the new season against Hebron HS
I wrote this preview at the beginning of soccer season. I reviewed last year's statistics and talked about how their season looks this year. It wasn't too difficult to write, and I enjoyed doing something different. I wrote my first soccer preview last year, and I wanted to try writing one again.
